Beautifully put together. Well managed, ultra clean, fresh foods, all with a good time. My wife & I stopped in for a mid-morning Sunday breakfast and was surprised to find the place to ourselves. How in the world could such a delightful place like this be empty? Amazing home style cooking, slightly under priced & perfect sized portions. Do Not bypass this place, its simply the best, quick, yummy, and priced a little low. You try getting 2 eggs, 2 pcs of beacon, 2 pancakes, and a bowl of grits for 6 bucks. They know how to accurately cook "over easy eggs", 1st place ive seen do it.
We came by this afternoon during a day trip to Natchitoches. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. The chicken was juicy and wonderfully seasoned. I enjoyed every bite. My daughter loved her mac and cheese. My husband also enjoyed his burger. They had a nice selection of desserts to choose from. I got the chocolate cake. It was decadent and rich with cute icing designs and hersey kisses on top. The slices were huge. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. We were checked on often. The atmosphere was quiet. The decor was cute and refined. The serving dishes were so cute! All in all it was a great experience and would highly recommend!
Home cooking at its finest. It takes time to be this good. Best potato salad ever. Everything else was nearly as good. Voodoo egg rolls are to die for.
The best food we had in Louisiana! Very clean and cozy place. Nice service. Enjoyed a lots. The things we complain of is Too Much food with one order !
Serendipitous place... Wasn't expecting the little oasis that it is. Soul food meets health food. I walked in to the place with a hip but relaxed BoHo feel piping in smooth jazz - but really just functional. Food was a great mix between comfort food and fresh/healthy dishes. I really enjoyed my homemade vegetarian black bean burger that was falling apart like a sloppy Joe with sides of salty turnip greens and a fresh fruit cup. Inspirational vibes underlie the restaurant's purpose to support the local community and it added to the flavors. I do think the offerings could be improved a bit (upscale the buns and tweak the potato salad recipe) but the current value is hard to beat as is. I'll be back!
This was my first time to eat here but DEFINITELY NOT THE LAST! The employees are very nice and the food is DELICIOUS!!😋 There's a relaxing sitting area outside and the interior atmosphere is casual. I had the grilled catfish and grilled shrimp with hush puppies and a side salad. And my husband is going to be HAPPY when he sees his fried catfish with hush puppies and onion rings for dinner!!🤩
A weekend getaway trip brought us to town, and glowing reviews brought us in the door. Got the shrimp n grits and Legacy Omelet. Man the sauce on those grits was sooooooo tasty.
Fresh food out of a private garden? Yes? Cooked to perfection like BigMomma? Yes! Feels like home? Yes! 👍👍👍 A community staple. Near downtown, almost overlooking it, but definitely worth the visit. Breakfast and Lunch is served. Get there before 3pm. Across the street from some new apartment buildings.
